18,000 Atlantans ‘Make Strides’ to Fight Breast Cancer

Thousands of metro Atlanta residents, dressed in their best pink finery, turned out for the American Cancer Society’s 14th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk on Saturday, October 6 in historic Centennial Olympic Park.  With 11Alive TV Anchor Karyn Greer emceeing the festivities, the event — in the shadow of the Society’s national headquarters — combined inspirational stories of breast cancer survivorship with dancing and fun. The crowd of 18,000 people put hands in the air to join in the “Pink Glove” dance and demonstrated its best moves in the “Electric Slide” and the “Wobble.”  The event will raise more than $1 million for the fight against breast cancer.
